Greetings from Your Network Superintendent

Albert Pujols (St. Louis Cardinals) and Aaron Judge (New York Yankees) have recently surpassed a couple of amazing milestones in baseball. Pujols reached a home run total of 702 during his career. Judge hit his 62nd home run, breaking Roger Maris’ single-season home run record by an American League player, a record that had stood for 61 years. Tim VanDouser, Terry Allen, Randel McCarty, and I went to St. Louis this summer to see the Yankees and Cardinals play. My favorite memory will be seeing Albert Pujols and Aaron Judge play in person, but I will also remember cooking in the upper deck sunshine with my friends.

Did you realize that Albert Pujols and Aaron Judge are followers of Jesus Christ? They are excellent role models for our youth.

Albert Pujols says, “If it weren’t for Jesus, I would not be where I am today and my life would be without purpose. I’ve heard kids say they want to be just like me when they grow up. They should know that I want to be just like Jesus.”

Aaron Judge’ favorite Bible verse is “For we walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7). His Twitter account bio reads, “Christian, Faith, Family, then Baseball.” Judge points to the sky as he rounds the bases and says, “I just try to take a quick moment just to kind of thank Him. It’s a blessing every time I step on that field and get that opportunity.”

Who do I want to win this year’s World Series? New York Yankees. If not the Yankees, then my second favorite team, St. Louis Cardinals.
