Getting Started
Communicate with your Pastor your desire to begin JBQ in your church.
Contact Sherri Alexander at BibleQuiz@tnaog.org to get on a contact list or if you need more information. You will need a few students and families that are interested.
Purchase a JBQ Fact-Pak in either card or book form. Having printed questions for each student to study at home is a must. The Fact-Pak you will need is NLT Version (Green Box) from My Healthy Church.
Find a time to meet regularly as a team, assign the questions for each quizzer to study at home and play games with the questions they have been learning etc.
A quiz box is another way to keep the students interested in studying the Fact-Pak and will be important when your teams begin to quiz against other churches. We purchased the latest box for $300 from quizequipment.com, be certain that the system you purchase is for Assemblies of God quizzing, we use paddles to “buzz in”.
There is registration fee of $20 per quizer at the beginning of each new quizzing season. Register your team below.
Using The Bible Fact-Pak
JBQ uses a list of 576 questions and answers which include Biblical background, Pentecostal teachings and Doctrine. The students memorize the questions and answers, then use that knowledge at practices for review, to play games and to quiz against others. (Quotation questions must be answered exactly, no repeating words or sounds, no um or uh, no changing of the word’s tense. The scripture reference may be given before or after the scripture, or both.)
The Fact-Pak questions are divided into 10, 20 and 30 point values, with the difficulty increasing according to the point value. The questions are also divided by categories and there are often Scripture references accompanying the questions, so the cards are great for class Bible study as well as for devotionals for students. JBQ Quizzing
Bible Fact-Pak
JBQ quizzers are K-6th graders. A quiz team consists of 1 coach and 2-8 quizzers. Up to 4 quizzers on two teams compete at one time, called a round. As quizzers sit behind an individual buzzer, a quiz master reads a question from a generated list, 20 questions per round. A correct answer gives the team points according to the points on the card, an incorrect answer is minus half the point value.
The JBQ Season is from September — February, there are 4 league meets a year (quizzing regionally; West, Middle and East), concluding in March with the TN Ministry Network Finals in Middle Tennessee.
