Next Generation Farm System

Today is Opening Day for Major League Baseball. It is always exciting to watch rookies make their debut into the big leagues. Most of baseball’s talent is developed through its minor league farm system. In Tennessee, minor league baseball teams include the Chattanooga Lookouts, Memphis Redbirds, Nashville Sounds, and Tennessee Smokies.

In the Tennessee Ministry Network, summer camps are a major farm system for developing the next generation of mighty young men and women of God. Look within our local churches and you will multitudes of people who were transformed during the last 57 years at a summer camp led by Gaylon Echols, Rodney Stanbro, Randel McCarty, David Jenkins, Terry Allen, Jeremy Austill, and now Brooks Till. Other excellent TNMN farm systems for our kids/youth are Royal Rangers led by Ron Bush, Junior/Teen Bible Quiz led by Sherry Alexander, and Girls Ministry led by Lindsey Isaac.

Many young souls have been saved, made recommitments to Jesus, received or refreshed by Holy Spirit Baptisms, experienced healings and miracles, hidden the Word of God within, called into the ministry, and experienced the strong presence of God as a direct result of these excellent ministries.

I challenge every church in Tennessee to be very intentional in developing the next generation. Here’s how you can do this:

  1. Prioritize Children’s and Youth ministries.

  2. Involve your young people as ministry volunteers.

  3. Develop Royal Rangers, Girls Ministry, and JBQ/Teen Bible Quiz as a part of your small groups’ ministry.

  4. Bring your kids and youth to a summer camp at Jackson Conference Center.

Love and appreciate you much!

Terry Bailey
