Homiletics

This course provides a practical understanding of the development, preparation and delivery of sermons.

Professor: JP Vick

JP Vick is the Lead Pastor of Northside Assembly of God, Jackson, TN since 2019. As an ordained Assemblies of God minister, he has spent over twenty years in leadership development in the public arena, private section, the academy, and the local church. Dr. Vick is a graduate of AGTS-Evangel University’s Doctor of Ministry program, where he also past served as program coordinator. He also holds an earned Ph.D. in Leadership Studies and enjoys helping others find success in their professional and personal development. He is an adjunct professor for both AGTS/Evangel University and Northpoint Bible College and Graduate School. His teaching foci include strategic foresight and planning, leadership, organizational culture and change, homiletics, and effective communication. Most importantly, he is passionate about seeing others embrace Jesus and change lives. He is enamored with his wife, Christie, and together raising four rowdy and remarkable children.
