Greetings from TNMN Superintendent, Terry Bailey!
“So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one.” (Ezekiel 22:30 NKJV)
Stand in the gap of intercessory prayer today for Nashville Covenant School and Fort Campbell 101st.
Because of sin, Israel was considered unclean and God had withheld rain upon the land. Ezekiel proclaimed that God was looking for a leader who would influence and lead the people in righteousness. He was looking for someone who would rebuild the wall of righteousness. Someone who would stand in the gaps of the walls. Someone who would intercede so that the land would be spared from ruin. Regretfully, no one could be found. As a result, judgment fell upon Israel. God poured out His indignation upon them. He consumed them in the fire of His wrath. He recompensed their evil deeds upon their heads.
You can “stand in the gap” for a prodigal or lost loved one through love and truth. Be genuinely interested in them and their needs. Do not sugar coat the truth of their condition but practice unconditional love without becoming an enabler. Let them go. Earnestly intercede in prayer and fasting on their behalf. They need to see your genuine faith and stable lifestyle. And then celebrate when they return.
Today’s challenge:
Be a rebuilder of the wall of righteousness in your family and community.
Be a person of intercessory prayer and fasting.
Stand in the gap for a prodigal or lost loved one.
