The first blue point of the Royal Rangers Code is ALERT, he is mentally, physically, and spiritually alert. I learned that in Royal Rangers when growing up at Whitefield Assembly of God in Ripley. Even as adults, we need to be constantly alert. I pray regularly for wisdom, understanding, and discernment. We need discernment as we encounter spiritual darkness in today’s culture or we could be deceived. Who can be deceived? The Bible teaches deception can happen to the very elect, to all of us, to the simple, to evil men and seducers, and that we can even deceive ourselves. We live in a world where great deception abounds. It is crazy. Many scammers are now using AI technology to swindle billions of dollars from Americans. You can simply click on a link in which you do not know the source and you may likely expose yourself to a deceiver.
Have you ever been scammed? Your email hacked? Your credit card compromised? I have. My emails got hacked while traveling home from Turkey in March. Someone even got into my credit card account and almost successfully withdrew $1,792 from my card. I have now changed my email address and gotten a replacement credit card. I certainly hope the fraud department can catch whoever deceived me.
Also, it’s time to get registered for our upcoming Ministers Retreat, Sept. 30-Oct. 2. If you don’t act soon, the hotel block will fill up and you’ll miss out on the special rate of $99 a night (available through August 30). Click here to view information on Ministers Retreat and to register.
Be encouraged and stay mentally, physically, and spiritually alert.
Love and appreciate you much!
