Network Update—06/27/2024
How many times have you heard something like this? Or maybe you have been guilty of saying it yourself…
"That generation is too far gone" or “Kids these days are just beyond hope."
In every era, there have been those who lament the direction of the younger generation. They see changes in culture, technology, and behavior, and they worry that the essence of goodness and faith is being lost. However, the Word of God offers us a different perspective.
Psalm 100:5 says, "For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His faithfulness is to ALL generations."
This psalm reminds us that God's goodness, mercy, and faithfulness stretches beyond all generational boundaries. His love and plans are not confined to a specific age group or era.
Consider this: the same God who guided Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, who spoke through the prophets, and who brought salvation through Jesus Christ is still at work today. Hallelujah! His promises are not outdated or irrelevant. They are alive and active, meant for each of us, regardless of our age or the time in which we live.
When we are tempted to write off a generation, let's remember that God has not done so. Instead, He looks at each person with love and purpose. He sees potential where we might see problems. He sees a future filled with hope where we might see lack. It is crucial for us to align our perspective with His and to speak life and hope into younger generations.
Encouraging and uplifting words can make a profound difference. Instead of criticizing, let us mentor and guide. Instead of dismissing, let us pray and support. He has a unique plan for each individual, and our role is to foster an environment where they can discover and walk in that plan.
Trust in His everlasting mercy and goodness, and believe that He is at work in your generation, shaping a future that glorifies Him. Let your heart be encouraged and your spirit uplifted, knowing that God's faithfulness spans all time, reaching each of us with His unending love.
Please a take a moment to fill out this COMPACT Foster Care and Adoption Survey in association with the Assemblies of God Foster Care Network!
The goal of this survey is to develop a heat map that the State of Tennessee identifies as higher need areas and overlay the Network’s churches interests, resources, programs, and areas of interest within the foster and adoption space. This overlay will provide the focuses of churches in correspondence with the needs within those communities. Having as many pastors and leaders fill this out across the Network will help needed ministry happen!
